I have a HP laptop and I am trying to perform a complete system recovery via flash drive I got from HP. Bios recognizes the hard drive but the recovery media does not. I get an error which says "Reducer Application close No HDD" Of course it is just out of warranty and HP wants money to help resolve issue. Any info or suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Stacey

Check the sata port for the HDD to make sure everything is connected. You may also want to try the drive in another computer to confirm that it is not the drive.
If the drive is fine it might be a problem with the hard drive controller on the motherboard where the hard drive is connected.
You may have to have someone look at the laptop.

run a diagnostics on the hdd. out of curiosity do you get a hard driver error 3F0 message when you boot if so its possible your hdd has crashed. i have an hp i play around with and ive found their hdd installed are complete garbage. ive had mine for a year now and ive replaced the hdd something like 4 times. and on every crash i get a 3f0 error

This is where I begin to really get confused....I ran a full diagnostic on the hdd and it passed....no errors whatsoever. I also ran diagnostic on system memory and no errors found there. But when I go into BIOS and check system log I get the 3F0 error code but it doesn't actually say error it just gives the code. Not sure what to do next????
