avoid chipset 970 for fx 8350 , since it is 10% slower than chipset 990.

you ve chosen a robust video card r9 290x , you d better pair it with Intel i5 4670 .

It'll play games just fine. Question is: is it worth the price? Prebuilt companies make a profit by charging more than the cost of the components and including arguably unnecessary hardware configurations.

If you get a 290x you want one of the custom cooled ones otherwise it will never run at the full clock speed.

Yeah, too much. There's currently no reason to pay $100 extra for an R9 290x over a gtx 780 unless you're a gpu miner. And IMO for $1600 I would expect at least a quad core i7, which is overall a faster chip than the FX 8350. Plus I'm sure the brands of other components like the PSU and hard drive will be sub par.

r9 290 is only 1% slower than r9 290x but if you want real gaming get i7 4770 and gtx 780 or r9 290 .
