Toshiba Laptop Windows 8 - Boot Errors Etc

I have a Toshiba laptop Windows 8, my computer will sometimes let me log onto it if I press certain keys like f12 f8 etc after multiple tries but when it comes on it is majorly slow and the internet page does not open without errors. I want to reset my laptop to factory settings but I have no discs and when I go to open "change PC settings" the program goes white and closes and doesn't load and shuts down every time.

HELP ASAP (I'm only 16 not very technical)

I have tried the holding down key 0 loads of times but nothing seems to happen.

A message appeared on my laptop and I selected "advanced options" and I was able to reset it from there and now it is resetting.

Does anyone know anything that I can do to speed up my laptop as I am new to windows 8 and not quite sure how to work it and what is best for it?
