I have seen other topics like this, but I have yet to see exactly what I'm looking for so I figured I'd post this.

I turned on my pc this morning and my graphics card (Nvidia GeForce GTX 780 ti) fan started spinning really fast and no image was showing up on the screen. The logo on the side was lit up and there were no beeps or lights on that shouldn't have been when I started the computer. From what I have read it appears that my card is dead, and I have another one coming in 1-2 days as a free replacement, but I wanted to make sure that was in fact the problem so that the new card does not start doing the same thing when I put it in. I have had the card for a little over a week now and it has been running flawlessly in that time, and then all of a sudden just started doing that today. I tried moving the card down a slot on the motherboard, and that made no difference.

I moved the computer to a new location and a different monitor, which is a step up from the monitor I had before, yesterday and it was running fine last night, so nothing has changed between when it was and wasn't working as far as I can tell.

Has anyone had this problem and knows a fix to it or is the card indeed dead? Also what could have been the cause of this if it was working fine yesterday then just not today?

The processor is an i7 4770k and motherboard is a Z87-G45 gaming motherboard, and I removed the card from the computer so it is currently running off the onboard video.

Put in the new card today, identical symptoms, fan spins up really fast, no display. The power supply I have is a Thermaltake TR2 RX 750W Bronze, which I believe is well above the minimum requirements for the card.
