(URGENT) Windows 8 problems / HP Laptop

Basically I come to Toms Hardware today seeking advice urgently.

My dad has asked me to restore his laptop back to factory settings, so I went into recovery and started the Factor y Restore, great... Now during the recovery the laptop decided to overheat, why? Not sure but anyway the recovery didn't complete.

So I restart the laptop and find myself facing the 'Automatic Repair' and 'Diagnosing your pc' loop...

So I did a Window 8 Factory Recovery Partition. Which then failed

Noticed I have 2 operating systems.

Hp RM (ESP)
Window 8

Hp RM telling me that the restore failed and to retry
Window 8 being very basic, no apps/programmes as to how it was when first bought.

Changed system date to 2012 from 2014 to see if it helps and currently running another recovery on Hp RM (ESP) .

Seriously no one can provide any help?
