Hello guys !

So i am on a hunt for my motherboard and i wanted to know what are some good motherboards?
I am on a pretty cool budget (not over 300$) i love Asus, MSI and Gigabyte myself. The motherboard should not have any fancy stuff i just want to buy it -> plug it in -> done. No overclocking or anything no pressing on buttons. i hope you get what i am getting at.

These are my parts for the motherboard:

CPU: Intel core i5-4670k
GPU: ASUS GTX 770 DirectCU II
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 2x4GB DIMM 240-PIN DDR3 SDRAM 1600MHz

I will try and answer all of your questions (if you have any) as good as possible

Hope you guys can help me out :)

Cheers !

I have a Z87-a the Z87 Pro gives u more things like wifi and all that stuff but i dont really need it i just got a usb wifi adapter and i am fine
The Pro z87 is better than the Z87-a but for me it brings a lot of unecessary things to the table so i just saved up that cash and got a better GPU
Now yes, the Z87 series from Asus are great and ANY of them are great options
the Z87-a and the Z87-pro can both SLI/CF at 8x/8x dont know if that influences u
now if u go to the MAXIMUS VI Z87's like the name says they aer maximum, they are very high end boards, excellent if u want multi card SLI crazy overclocks and all that insane stuff, but for gaming , normal overclocks and a decent SLI/CF the Z87-a or pro are both as good

Thx guys for your fast replies !

Have been looking out for the z87 series of Asus would you guys think the Asus z87-a would be a good choice? its on a pretty nice low price or is the Pro, Formula, Hero or Extreme better? (i mean ofc its better but im not asking THAT much of it, it should just be a good quality and performance no need for pressing anything or do anything just plug it in and done ! So yeah Asus z87-a good choice?

Thank you guys getting more and more confident in my final choice

I think it's gonna be a Asus z87-a. And no Portuguesetechie i am not planning on SLIing :) but thanks for pointing that out.
We are thinking maybe a bit the same thing with upgrading yeah yeah its better but more unecessary stuff comes along with it i mean for me and MY needs there gonna perform really the same.

Thank you for all the great answers and recommends for the motherboards :)

Yes that was my main reason why i got the Z87-a, its excellent built it furfills all the needs i may have, no need to spend 60euros more on something that i wont use when i can get a better GPU :p
YOure welcome mate, :) just relax and enjoy your choice, its a very good build :)

mATX as in micro ATX, just 1-2 PCIe slots smaller than full ATX.

lately I buy boards as small as possible to give me the most case options and not have 5 unused empty wasted expansion slots. seriously, I had a fleeting thought of taking my mATX mobo and putting it on a bandsaw to cut off the parts I wasn't using just to stuff it into a smaller nicer case. but that thought got replaced with just buying the right size mobo and starting fresh, which was ITX (for that specific build)

Well amazing you found the right thing in the end :)

However i think ATX is the right choice for me i dont really care about haveing unused PCI slots and dont care about the size of the case mid tower is just perfect for my needs. But ofc i get what you mean by haveing empty wasted expansion slots (PSI, and the GPU without SLI) but i would rather have wasted slots than actually needing and missing them for maybe a future SLIing (probably not but still) or extra RAM.
