Reading other posts about bios problems i did the following without success...removed one stick of memory...post acknowledged that..removed battery, checked it and its good, and finally moved the cmos jumpers as suggested. I boot up and i finally am able to get to the boot tab, and for a brief second it looked empty, but before i could enter info the screen went black and the pc shutted off. i guess the only thing i accomplished was that its now in default mode, and yet not able to do anything about it.

The OP here...just adding some more info...that may help to figure what is going on. I get as far as the first screen of the post and pressed Pause so i could read the info its giving me before it eventually shuts down, even after a pause. it acknowledges both HD's, DVD keyboard,mouse..no beeps except the usual POst one. At the very bottom it said 2 things Cmos: wrong F2 : setup...Now, as far as that cmos message...naturally it should not be normal i shorted the pins from 1-2 to 2-3 and left it that way...was i suppose to revert it back to 1-2 ?
