I've been thinking about getting a new heatsink for my CPU as the stock one is very loud and has become old. I did a search and saw a pretty good Aircooling heatsink the "Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO" which I think is the best choice for me. On the other side, I was thinking about getting a watercooling kit and forget air cooling. I saw plenty of them like the "Antec Kuhler H20 620" and the "Corsair Hydro series H60" and many others. What's your opinion about Air Cooling and Water Cooling? Will 60$ watercooling heatsinks do their job or I will have to go with Aircooling?

Watercooling solutions are always more expensive than air cooling.

Retail watercooling setups will only cool about the same as the majority of air coolers. Watercooling will drop your temps moreso than air will once you start investing in making a custom watercooling system.

But generally, it's hard to beat a cooler such as the Noctua NH-D14 with watercooling, the CM Hyper 212 EVO is a great choice for aroud $30-35, and would likely meet all of your needs.

I was in the same position as you days before. Hyper evo or Corsair Hydro H55? We are High tech guys so lets say that water cooling would be better for us since we plan to overclock and leave space for future upgrades.
Hyper evo at amazon was $40 while I got the H55 for $49 at best buy.

It's all purpose. If you don't want to overclock a huge amount, or if you're not overclocking at all, the noise level is just awful for you, just go with an air cooler. If you do want to have a high overclock, you probably would want to go for a water cooler.

get the EVO, its a great fan. and it will be quiet and you could overcloack with it a little. basicaly only pricy dedicated water coolers have a big cooling improvement over air fans.

if you want to go from quiet to silent though, you can get rubber mounts for case fans, and find a cpu air cooler that has some rubber\noise reduction technology (but they will cost a bit more ofc)

Thanks for your replies, I really appreciate them :).
The main reason I want to change my cpu heatsink is because of that loud noise my stock AMD fan makes.
In my opinion I think that watercoolers are more appropriate in these kind of problems.
Do you believe that I should get a 212 EVO or a watercooling kit in order to make my PC quiter?
