Hi,

I have this CPU and it is very noisy when playing top games, for example Far Cry 3 and Call of Duty: Ghost on max settings...

Can you reccomend to me good and quiet cooler. I won't overclock it in foreseeable future, but maybe one day :)

Thanks :)

I am using the Thermaltake Water 3.0 Extreme and so far it is very good. You probably don't need that one if you're not overclocking but I would recommend taking a look at one of those or the Corsair models are also supposed to be very good as well. The benefits of these closed-loop water coolers are many. They are not only quieter both during idle and underload, they exhaust the hot air directly out of the case instead of further circulating that air in the case they will also provide the cooling power of a giant heatsink and fan without stressing your motherboard with such a big weight hanging from it.

stock fans are always loud... and the higher the cpu is loaded, the more it overheats, the faster the fan spins in order to keep it cooler, the louder it gets(thats what you get from a stock cooler when its stress working). Even quiet coolers get louder (although still being very quiet)... you can get cooler master hyper evo which is cheap, efficient and decent quiet. if you want it to be near silent then browse for a noctua coolers (no need for super pricy, they all are far better than the stock junk)

I haven't run the Noctua cooler. I have the Xigmatek Gaia in my current system (i7-2600K overclocked to 4.4GHz). I added a second fan to the cooler in a push/pull configuration. The cooler is very quiet even with the second fan installed and keeps my overclocked CPU under 60C at full load. I've been very impressed with it.

Hey TwinHeadedEagle,

With your situation- and how money isn't an issue- I would for sure go with the Noctua NH-D14

http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835608018

It's a bit more expensive- but it is one of the best air coolers out there, and is better than some liquid coolers.
