Hello, I recently upgraded my PC with a new i5 3570k. Using this cpu the PC boots fine and runs windows as normal. The problem occurs when i go too play a game, the pc will blue screen with the error code 116. error 116 refers to a graphics problem with the pc so i removed the 660ti which has been in my pc for about 3 months now and used intels HD 4000 onboard graphics for the past week and the pc hasn't blue screened once. What i wanted to ask is could it be my cheap 650w powercool psu bottlenecking the PC and causing the crash? It's seems a coincidence that my gpu would become faulty the same day that i install a new cpu.

The PSU possibly, but have you tried uninstalling then reinstalling the NVIDIA drivers? You could also try resetting the BIOS. Pop out the CMOS battery on the motherboard for about a minute, then try again.

i had this problem with my FX 6120 i would check the BIOS and it had dropped the clock speeds by 300 MHz the only way i got round it was flashing the BIOS with a newer version
