Can anyone vouch for a silent or very quiet DVD RW?

Solution
A couple years ago I had the older IDE DVD-RW drive I had been using die on me, i spent a bit more and grabbed a plextor drive, dead silent, only reason you can tell its working is because of the blue LED on the front. My other drives you can always hear spin up, at least a little, and in the case of some, a lot, but this one is super quiet, it was the most impressive part about it when i first installed it. Other drives may be down to this noise level now, I've had this one for 3 years.
Probably any new one would be silent. Yours is making noise probably due to age.
I have a bluray burner I got back in.... '08 that I've just transported around with each system, as i rarely use my optical drive anymore, installing the OS maybe, some new drivers (which is dumb because there are ALWAYS newer drivers online when you buy a new piece of hardware anyways) Edit: Forgot to mention my bluray burner is pretty quite, It's an LG, in beige (which clashes so horribly with my all black and blue computer, but it's a piece of hardware I never use so spending any more on a new one is just dumb, cause this one still works perfectly fine.)

Hey James thanks for your quick response. Maybe. I think it's always been like this though. I've just moved the PC and it's more audible now you see. So if I spend like 15-20 pounds on a standard lite-on, it'll be quiet?

Thanks again.

Hi Hunter, thanks for the advice. And you've got a +1 so looks like I'm shopping for a Plextor. My domestic accounts department (missus) agrees that it should be done. I'm looking at a couple or three weeks before I get one. Once I've got it and it behaves as hoped (which I'm sure it will), I'll let you know.

Thanks again for the help.

Real variety of views then. Thanks for all the answers. So my optical drive is loud when burning but equally loud when, say, installing a game. My wife thinks I'm using her hairdryer! No, not really that loud (bl**dy hairdryer :) ) but quite noisy still. Anyway, I'll try for the Plextor as suggested and report back when it's installed.
