So, I have heard that the stock cooler is pretty bad due to the noise and temps..

Will my current CPU cooler be fine running it cool? (I'm not OC'ing, just want to make sure it's at a nice temp)

http://www.scythe-eu.com/en/products/cpu-cooler/shuriken-rev-b.html

It keeps my Intel Quad 2 Core 8200 cool (30 idleish, 45 max, never seen it go higher)

Also, will this build go together well?
AMD FX 8320 (+my cooler if good enough)
Radeon XFX 7870
8GB GeIL Enhance CORSA 1600mhz (2x4GB)
ASRock 970 PRO3 R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard
Corsair CX 600

Solution
This Scythe is not bad at all, it will cool your CPU fine as long you can ensure a good airflow in your case. FX CPU's tend to get higher temps to other CPUs due to their power consumption.

You are even fine with the stock cooler as long you won't overclock or don't mind of high noise levels during load. AMD's stock fans are getting pretty loud under load.

If you want a good cooler, try to get your hands on a Noctua NH-U12S or even a U14S.

The 12S guarantees 100% RAM compability and you get a really good looking, silent, powerful cooler. You willl also have a margin if you want to overclock in future (which will be the case, trust me).

By the way, the rest of your components will work fine together, don't worry about that.

To be honest with you I've never heard of the cooler you've mentioned...that said, I keep hearing great things about the CM Hyper 212 EVO. If you do a search in other forums I'm sure you'll find lots of positive feedback. Personally I like Cooler Master, they make good products reasonably priced.

And yes, the components you've listed will go well together. Both the 8320 and the 7870 have done well and are compatible with the ASRock mobo you've mentioned. I have an ASRock motherboard now (a 990FX Extreme 9) and haven't had any compatibility issues or problems. Also, the PSU you've listed is (imo) a great unit and will power everything easily.

I just use a Cooler Master Hyper 101 with two 80mm fans. The bottom fan is non-adjustable and always blows into the heatsink at max while the top fan is adjustable. It worked perfectly on my Phenom II X4 965 and now it works perfectly on my FX-8350. My CPU temps average between 30C and 40C. All my cores are currently at 31C. The cooler only costs $15.

Sorry to reopening this topic, but I have a question for you bro. I am looking for a cheap cooler and I don't wan't 212 evo to use up my 1 ram slot as I am thinking of upgrading it soon. So should I use cm hyper 101 with two fans? or should I go for cm hyper tx3 which is pretty much close to 212 evo with just one fan? cm 101 with two fans and tx3 with one fan costs pretty much the same.

check this out --> Noctua NH-U12S
pure and beautiful austrian quality
besides im from austria, i always used noctua coolers, currently the nh-u12s with a dual fan setup (push & pull)
this cooler guarantees 100% ram compability, is really quiet and cools very good
even with 100% fan speed (1600 rpm), you hear NOTHING, nada, niente

maybe you can get your hands on one of these

I know that cooler. But I am on a limited budget because I am building my second pc with fx 8320 and need a cheap cooler and I won't be oc'ing just letting the cpu use it's turbo boost with a decent cooler. So I guess TX3 should do it.
