Board and memory

anyone tried the asus M5A97 Evo2.0 and and Gskill F3-17000CL9D-8GBXM, 2 x 4GB, this is not on the approved Ram and i am not sure it will work.

I wouldn't worry about the memory not being on the QVL. That is only a list of memory the manufacturer tested with the MB before marketing it. But I'm not sure about the 1.65V. Does your MB require the more common 1.5V?

as i understand the MB supports 1.5 and 1.65V rams
