So i recently got an intel i7 860 @ 2.8 GHz and i'm new to this overclocking thing. How do you overclock it to around 3.8 - 4.0 GHz
Motherboard: P7P55 LX
RAM: 2 x 2 GB 2400 MHz
CPU cooler: Arctic Freezer Pro Rev.2
Thanks!

You will need an aftermarket cooler to get to those clocks to run stable. If you have a stock cooler, you might be able to get to 3.2-3.4GHz pretty easily by increasing your BCLK in BIOS. You should spend a couple hours researching your motherboard's ability to OC before changing anything. Also be prepared for anything including knowing how to reset your CMOS.

I already listed my CPU cooler above and it is not a stock cooler

Check out the BCLK overclock. This is the equivalent overclocking your Front Side Bus. In other words changing your BCLK will also have the effect of overclocking your RAM. Be aware of your multiplier setting and change the BCLK frequency in increments based on stability. Maybe run Prime95 before changing anything to make sure your rig can handle full system saturation in a stable manner. Depending on your motherboard and RAM quality, you should be able to get to 3.8 or 4.0GHz
