Hi guys,

I inherited some parts, but I need help putting the rest of the parts together. My overall goal is to keep things on the economical side. However I would like to get the most bang for the buck. Also I do have a key for either Windows 7 32-bit or 64-bit. Will this computer be able to handle 64-bits?

These are the parts that I inherited:

- Computer case
- Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 Sl9s9 Malay 2.13GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor
- Msi G41M-P33 Combo motherboard

I also understand that this particular cpu chip only benefits from ddr2 ram? Can you guys point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

Ok if your board is a combo you can install ...DDR3 1333 / DDR2 1066 ram only 8 gig worth that be 2x4 in tandam

you have 4 sata ports any dvd burner and any hard drive that is sata will work. Power supply corsair 430 watt be more then enough as for vid card you could install any pci 16 card but you wont want to high end of one because you will bottleneck your system..

I was wondering if I can get some directions as to the specific parts I need to complete my build?

I understand I need ram, a videocard, a harddrive, a psu, and a fan? But I am not sure which specific type of parts I need to get for this cpu and motherboard that I have..

Thank you so much, this is exactly the answer that I needed!! Also one more tiny question, is it a good idea to install windows 7 64bit edition? If I cannot, is it because the core 2 duo chip is too slow to gain any benefits from the Windows 64bit edition?

Thanks again for the link, really helps me out, I'll go ahead and buy the parts later today.
