My computer locked up one day and i couldn't use the mouse or keyboard and i noticed the system time didn't even change. the only way to turn it off was to hold the power button. upon powering back up all the fans spin up and lights come on. Although, no beeps from the speaker and not a single signal gets sent to the monitor. ill post my specs in as much detail as i can.

mobo: gigabyte 990
cpu: fx 6200 zambezi
ram: corsair 4x4 ddr3 at 1333
gpu: gtx 780 hydro copper classified
Samsung 1tb ssd
processor and gpu are watercooled (nothing was spilled as this is not my first water cooled system, if anything was spilled it would've only been the non-conductive coolant)
both monitors are acer and band new they also work on other computers so that cancels that out.

as for troubleshooting done so far:
comos was reset (battery removal method)
psu is working fine
I double and triple checked over the mobo for spillage (saw nothing)
cpu did not fry becasue temps never made it past 40c (maxed out)
same for gpu as teps never went past 33c (maxed out)

if theres anything else you need to know just ask and i will explain. i was just wondering if anyone had any ideas other than the mobo is fried. which im really hoping is not the case

no hdd light as well

When you reset cmos did you remove battery and press the cmos jumper button? The gigabytes have that dualbios setup.

The more I look around, this really sounds like other problems people have had with a corrupted bios. Most involve a failed bios update but there was one after a crash in Windows.

The thing is these people ended up having to short 2 pins on the bios chip!

Find the bios chip right by the DualBios lettering. On one side is a green dot, diagonally across from it you short out pin 5 and 6 with any piece of metal you have(small flathead screwdriver?) while powering on. It may take a few attempts and this should be a last resort but it really could be a corrupt bios and dual-bios fail.

Do you have the latest BIOS, mobo drivers and GPU drivers? Next would look at DRAM and prob raise DRAM voltage + 0.06 and the CPU/NB voltage up + 0.05, AMD is notorious for it's MC (memory controllers) especially with 4 sticks of DRAM, if you have a weaker MC it can just freeze as you've mentioned

Hi dnlans88,
Have you tried different memory sticks? Try re-seating them in the slot(s)/Memory banks or use one stick at first. I think it could be a memory issue since you're not hearing any "beeps" during boot-up. Give it a try and let us know how it goes. By the way, did you by any chance get an error or a BSOD?
