hello recently my computer overheated and shut off so I blew out all the dust and tried again it went from 30 to 90 degrees before shutting down. it loads windows fine but over heats super fast. I have a water cooler for the CPU and I thought maybe the thermal paste went bad so I put new on and reset the cooler and still overheated in secs. so I took the water cooler out and plugged it in a PC that I'm scrapping and the pump kicks on and works so I'm thinking maybe the CPU is burning itself out cuz before I had no problems with it before but all of a sudden its overheating. could it be the motherboard or deff the CPU cuz like I said it works great loads windows and I can do things. it it overheats then dies. thanks for your help

no overclocking and all the voltage is normal and everything is great. I put the paste on the cpu and spread it so it covers the cpu.like I did in the first time building the computer. it has to be the cpu I think cuz the mobo wouldnt make the cpu overheat that fast the mobo says it stays around 24 degrees

yes went into bios and reset everything to default. still overheats and shuts off. even let it sit for the hole night and tried it again and again itll load windows and I could do eberything normal til it overheats and shuts off

If you happen to have a spare cpu laying around you could test it maybe a pc shop can test your cpu for you for a small fee hows your power supply??? is it a good brand plenty of power because if its going bad it could crash your system as well... Hope this helps

so after tinkering around I decided to put the stock cooler from amd. so I dug it out of the closet installed it with new paste and now it stays around 24 degrees and after encoding mocies for two hours the highest twmp was 43 degrees so knock on wood look luke it was the water cooler after all the pump must not of been pumping enough to keep the 8 core cool.
