Connecting old modem to new pc?

So i just got win7 installed on my new pc, but when i plug in the modem it recognizes it but wont connect to the network.
Do i need to install the drivers from my old pc where the modem was originally connected?

Turn off your modem AND pc for 5 minutes.

Turn your modem on and wait for lights to steady up.

Turn on your pc.

You'll probably be able to connect to the internet.

Your modem is likely tied to your old pc's mac address until you turn it off for 5 minutes, at which point it will seek out the new machines mac address and let it connect.
