.NET FRAMEWORK preventing me from playing games

I currently am on windows 8, and have .NET FRAMEWORK 4.5, and when I try to play games like tribes ascend, or crysis 2, I am told to install .NET FRAMEWORK 3.5. I click install and it instantly says "installed successfully, applications may need to restart", I restart and it comes up with the same message, I've tried skipping installation aswell, and doesn't launch the games either. If it matter, I recently upgraded the PSU and GPU on my pc and ever since that I've been having this problem. Before I installed the PSU and GPU this was not happening.

Any help would be great

You see, it was installed before I put my new GPU and PSU in, didn't change it since and it stopped working. Tried uninstalling it and I don't know how.

Where do i go to uninstall it in the control panel? I go on uninstall an application and it's not there.

according to me u should first download the setup file of the .net and then delete the files of .net from where it was installed.....then install the setup file...try it out
