I have this mother board:

Asus M5A97 R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard ($92.99 @ NCIX US)

And I am trying to connect the 8 pin connector from this power supply

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/thermaltake-power-supply-t...

I can't find any plug from the power supply that will one up with the 8 pin plug, next to the Heatsink.

Can someone help?

I will post pictures in a second.

I guess my PSu is a ATX and the mother board is a EATX.

mach on your power supply cables. there the 24 pin atx cables. then most new power supplys will have 6 pin or 6 plus 2 pins for the video cards. on newer power supplys they use one four pin cable for power or two four pin cables with a clip in the middle to lock them in to make 8 pin power cable. some mb and 8 pin cables have issues where they wont fit if that happens you can use 1/2 of the 8 pin cable in the port to power on your mb.

The plug that you just posted isn't the same pattern. Have of the 4 fits just fine. Just not the other 4 pin.
