ok i had my system a while, and this has been bothering me for a while.

When i play games, and my FPS rate drops,i get these slowdowns, where a drop from 80 down to 60 makes a game feel like its only like 20fps.Not just that but my the difference between min/max framerate is also quite large in most games, more so than i would expect for my HW.

Prime example,on CS:GO i only get a stable fps of 120-140,sometimes it shoots up to 230,but more regularly drops to 80-100 range. All in its a rather Jarring gameplay experience

Specs

Fx6300(Oc to 4.0ghz)
GA-78LMT-USB3(rev4.1)
R280x 3GB(I had a 660 before and i had the same issues,)
Corsair Cx750m psu
8GB ram 1333mhz(single stick)
SSD+hdd ect ect
Win8.1(was on win7 be4,again no real difference)

Now,my issues arnt gamebreaking, but it really is quite annoying that none of the my games play buttery smooth, despite me having the hw to easily max them out.

The only potential problem i can see with my hardware is having ram in single channel mode.but can this cause somewhat choppy framerates and high frametime/ms?

Any1 got any ideas.?

PS:I have no thermal throttling on my CPU,my core never downclock when under load(which can be quite common)

I have an almost similar configuration, but I play with V Sync ON as my Monitor (TV) is 60Hz only. It prevents from screen tearing and never had FPS drops like you are encountering.
Single channel RAM shouldn't be a problem, however voltage drops in CPU or RAM can be the issue. Will advise you to try the game with V-Sync ON First and if that doesn't work, manually set voltages for CPU and RAM in MoBo(at least for RAM).

Vsync on or off, still get the slowdown feeling in my games

Get the drops from 60 down to 50 occasionally on games i should have no prob playing at locked 60fps.

I hate screen tearing but dont bother with Vsync in most games because that minimizes the effects of the problem i experience

Cpu voltage is manually set in my bios for my (stable OC)

When i first got my system i had different ram,8GB Gskills 1600mhz(at 1.65v). It died after 2 weeks and i had to return it,so i have an 8gb stick of crucial 1333mhz(at 1.5v) instead

Well i have tried setting all the voltages manually in the bios rather than leaving them on auto. And its not made any difference

Next thing i will try is maybe reseating the ram into a different slot

Well, what was the result? Did it stop fps drops? Please do post how you solve your problem, will be helpful for others.
Could you also try to run the RAM at 1600MHz if the same is tested on your RAM. In my case, I had Corsair Vengeance Ram which was running at 1333Mhz but was tested to run at 1600MHz as it said on their website, so I permanently enabled it to 1600MHz from the MoBo.
