Computer not booting:

Hello, I made my first build about half a year ago. Here are the specs

Motherboard: Asus Z87-c

CPU: Intel i5 4670K

GPU: GTX 760

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8GB

Power Supply: XFX ATX 550

Before this, it would occasionally shut off intermittently.

Now, it won't start at all. The fans will briefly spin up, and then stop. I've tried stripping it down to essential components, but the same thing happens. I've also tested the PSU with the paper clip trick, and attempted to clear the CMOS using the motherboard jumper.

Solution
I'm, sure you will already have checked all the connections to the motherboard but I've done that in the past and still found going round again made things work properly. It's also worth taking off the power switch connector and shorting the pins manually to by-pass the pane switch in case that's faulty.

I've also known that "paperclip trick" to mess a PSU up completely - especially if it was on its way out anyway.

I've tried that, but I still get the same behavior.
