I recently got an SSD for my PC, but I have had a major problem with it. It is recognized by the Bios, and its is showing as working properly in the Device Manager, yet I cant use it at all. Anyone know what could be wrong?

Im using Windows 8, and it was showing up as unallocated space in Disk Management so I tried to partition it and format through the New Simple Volume Wizard and after completing the wizard when I clicked the button to begin that operation, I got a pop up that says Space not found or something like that, and it disappeared from the Disk Management Tray

You should check the cables to make sure that nothing has come loose. Also try one of the free partition managers (Paragon, for example) to see if they can see and partition the drive. If that fails then I would suggest a faulty cable, motherboard port or drive. The first two can be eliminated by substitution; in the third case you will need to RMA the drive.

Keep a careful note of any error messages, recording the exact wording. It's difficult, or impossible, to trace "something like" messages.
