Hi,

I have a dual monitor setup and was wanting to partly use the 2nd monitor for tv at times. I have a standard tv connection available in my room and would possibly like to go towards a wireless hd signal in future. What would be recommended as the best way to go about this? Would some sort of external usb device be sufficient or do i need to install a higher end tv tuner card into my pc?

Any insight would be appreciated,

Thanks

Ditch cable and stream all your shows from the internet.... (a PC cable card is really nothing more than a cable box you buy n pay for...)

If you need a bigger screen, run an HDMI wire over to the TV.... (no special software needed, just configure your PC to support dual monitors (Google "Window 7 dual screens.." http://support.microsoft.com/kb/976064 )

OR, ditch the PC from the loop entirely and get a Blu-Ray player or Google TV (or equivalent) to let you stream from those devices....

If i plug an hdmi cable directly into my pc instead of into a screen would that work? Is there a type of software i can download to watch tv in some sort of windowed format so i can still use the screen as a normal pc monitor instead of limiting me to just using it as a tv?

Im wondering if a tv card is absolutely necessary or if there are ways around it if i dont need to use the standard tv cable.
