Hello, Just a quick question, that will hopefully get a quick answer
Thank you in advance for taking the time to read my question.

I am in the process of purchasing a new system, I was looking at getting two "ATI R9 290X" video cards and running them in crossfire in an eyefinity triple monitor 23" group.

In my old system I currently have an old HD5870 that is running a separate eyefinitiy triple monitor 23" group and so rather than junk this, I was hoping to take advantage of what I already have.

What my question is, I would ultimately like to take all six 23" monitors and put them onto my new system.
The 2 new 290X will be in crossfire running the primary 3 monitor eyefinity group that I will then use for gaming, and I was hoping to put the single old HD5870 running the top 3 monitors that I could use for an extended desktop.

Does this sound possible? if not what changes do I need to make for something like this to work? I'm not sure if the new cards and the old card run on the same driver series, or if this will be an issue or not.
Will having the old card in the system have a negative impact on the new cards performance?
Will having 3 cards in the one system be an issue, two of the cards in crossfire and 1 as a single?
Do I need to set Primary display card somewhere or will the fact that the cards are in slot 1 and 2 and 3 suffice?
My motherboard in the new system is the "Gigabyte G1 Sniper 5"

Thanks once again for taking the time to read my message, hopefully I can find an answer.

Max

Just thought I would add on, I had a look on the AMD/ATI website, it appears both of these cards will work of the same series of drivers (to the best of my knowledge)
and also that I have not purchased these 2 new cards yet, I thought I would wait and check all is good before the big spend.

picking up the video cards on Thursday, so hopefully all is well, I am just hoping that the 3 cards will work in the one system together.
Does anyone see any issues with this hopeful setup?
