Yeah it probably will since your CPU is in the 7th tier of toms CPU hierarchy chart. You really should try to upgrade

Yes, most games today require 4 cores at least. It won't bottleneck the GPU, but it will slow down most modern games.

If you want to get a relatively cheap CPU that won't drag you down too much, try the Pentium G3220. It's around $80 and I can run BF3 just fine with it.

That's true, I was just confused when you said that an FPS would demand more CPU power. Having an underpowered CPU would of course struggle to run an FPS, but playing an RTS or 4X game would be far more demanding on the CPU than a shooter.
