Palit GPU fan FAIL

Hello everyone, I have a GTX 660 OC for 6 months now and it worked fine until 2 weeks ago when the fan stops ocassionaly (then reaches 100 *C and turns off) . It usualy stops when i power on . starts for about 2 secs then stops. I took it to warranty (GPU only) but the staff said they could reproduce the problem just once when the PC wakes up from sleep mode . Took it back on my pc and still have problems from time to time. The problem occurs sometimes before booting windows so I guess it'not a driver issue. Could anyone help please? Thanks!

Other hardware: ZH77 Pro 3 MOBO , Corsair VS550 PS.

Tell palit to replace it because its causing your system to shut down and you dont want it frying your system. Next time buy from a better company than palit and other cheaper companies like that. You get better quality and better customer service. You could try updating the video cards bios or try a fresh windows install. I personally would tell palit to replace it.

hello azzazel_99, I agree with you, I did take it back but the retailers said they can't help me since they can not reproduce the issue on their systems. The problem is this happened frequently a week ago before i took it to service but now it only happens when i start the PC in the morning.

update your motherboards bios and drivers and check for anyone gpu bios updates or software updates.

I did update my MOBO bios but there is no support for the GPU at the time. (just drivers which I always update)

hmmmm. Take your whole system up there to them and show them what its doing. Do you have another gpu you can put in to see if it does it on a different card?

PS, the fan rotates smoothly so there is nothing jaming it physicaly.

I will take the whole system to service but as I said before the problem does not occur everytime so they might keep it there for a long time and I kind of need it to work.

I will wait until the problem gets worst so I can be sure they see it this time.

I threw my old graphics cards so I dont have any to test.

OK, still no luck https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LHwOkH8kLko here's a video of the problem. The retailers said they could not reproduce the problem so no warranty still. This only happens when the pc is not used for an hour or so. Any help apreciated.

Note: the fan starts when I press the power button, but only for 2 seconds.
