Hey guys I am having a problem with Battlefield 4 on PC with low framerates on my AMD FX 6300 and Radeon HD 7870. I am only getting 25-40 fps on ultra settings and sometimes even lower
than that all on 1600x900 res. In High settings it is still pretty much the same. In Medium settings I get a higher fps around 60 but I still get constant framdrops. I have the latest catalyst driver as of date (13.12)
I know with these specs I am supposed to get much better performance. Even with low fps I am only getting a maximum of 44% usage of the GPU. However the CPU pretty much goes around
90% usage on all cores. Could this mean there is a bottleneck and if so how do people on youtube with same CPU and GPU get much better performance than me? Thanks for the answers
CPU: AMD FX-6300 No OC
Mobo: Gigabyte 78LMT-S2 (rev 1.2)
RAM: 8GB Patriot Memory 1333MHz (Low CAS 8)
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
GPU: HIS Radeon HD 7870 IceQ
GPU Clock speeds: 1000/4800 MHz

We need you full specs.

The problem might lie in the motherboard which is like a bare minimum.

The problem might also lie in the power supply. Are all of the power cables connected? What is the brand and model of your power supply?

What would you recommend me to get? Preferably budget friendly. Thanks

If you are playing 64- maps, drop down to 32- maps and compare your frames.

I'd also consider disabling Turbo and OC'ing all six cores to 4GHz or so.

I've got the current version of that Gigabyte mobo, and it's not so bad ... but, it does tend to over-volt. Read your mobo manual to learn the 'secret handshake' to expand BIOS menu options.

And, you could run OCCT and check the charts for power delivery to your system ... your PSU may be at issue with some ripple.

I am highly sure it is your motherboard ... Seeing that it only has a 3+1 power phase, it is a 760G chipset, and it is just very cheap overall. Try upgrading it to a 970 / 990FX chipset motherboard with a 4+1 power phase at least and you should be good to go ;) ...

For the power supply, I am pretty sure that 500 watts is enough for your system but just to make sure try a 550W+ with an 80+ Bronze Certification PSU and it will feed your pc just fine :p

Hello!
I am having similar problems, and i'd like to ask if you have already bought and set up a new motherboard for your system, and if it was the problem for you.
I also have a 760G motherboard with the same CPU, and an R9 270X.
So if buying a new mobo helps, i think i will go and buy one...
