I'm looking for the best value motherboard for my DAW.

My parts i have paid for already for this computer, Link

Intel™® i7 4770k
G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory
Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5" Solid State Disk
SeaSonic 660W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply
****ASRock Fatal1ty Z87 Killer ATX LGA1150 Motherboard**** Might change

I would love some input on the:

ASRock Z87 Extreme4
ASRock Fatal1ty Z87 Killer

If you think i can do better, i'd love to hear what brand and why, i look for sound chips (but i use ASIO anyways) and number of Sata 3 6gb's. Stuff i'm waiting to buy are the hard drives for my Samples etc.

If you ask why i got RAM at 1866 "please" its a DAW i use RAM speed, i will have samples loaded at all times and speed = good.

Now this might be off topic but these new motherboards with 600 ohm's is like my dream land, Having a pair of AKG 702's and you understand lol

Price for my board i paid 114.99 but can go to $150-$160.

The Killer would be my budget choice. Next step above your budget!

Ya i'm lost on the ASRock Z87 Extreme4, i would only get 1 extra USB 3.0 19 pin and 2 Sata ports by what i see right? Plus some Software like HomeCloud.

Looks correct and I see no need for either unless you plan multiple drives and to me 4 USB3 ports (2 in back 2 in front panel) is plenty for today's uses.

God i'm not sure what drives ill be using, 1 256 gb SSD and 1 3tb 7200 rpm. Someone hook me up with some 3tb deals and ill Raid this quick lol

but was plaining on making a raid with 3 old 500 gbs lol so i'm up to 5 of the sata ports. Only should be using 1 usb for Midi Controller, 1 for mouse. Key-board is old green thing cable lol

ya i should be good with the killer, i wish i could pay less for computer parts without all these fancy colors and odd look sport car RAM mods.

Lol about the sport car look! I go by value because I mostly look at the monitor when looking at my computer (gaming or browsing) color coordination does not matter that much to me therefore and I prefer none window cases.

Yep i'm in the same boat, Corsair 300r no window, can't stand looking at PC parts like a fashion contest. Just wish i could spend less on parts with no fashion sense hehe

Now how i'm going to mount a corsair h100i in a 300r is a new issue hmmmm
