Hey :)

So, I got a new ASUS GTX760 OC on the new year's eve and it was working perfectly fine and to be honest, I was enjoying it. I was surprised at the performance for that price.

But yesterday, I decided to boot in my OpenSUSE installation for the first time in 2014 and when I restarted my system to go back to Windows, it just stuck at the 'Jmicron PCI-Express to SATA II Controller' with a 'finding drives, please wait ...' . Irony is that it was ALWAYS there, but never a problem. at first I taught it's the hard drive. I removed it. didn't work. did that jumper fix-everything-related-to-bios-and-cmos thing. didn't work. removed the battery, didn't work. pressed MemOK! button, didn't work. but when I put the old VGA back, everything worked fine.

I even can't go to BIOS settings with this, though when I plug the old VGA I am able to and also FYI, I tried to turn off that Jmicron thingie, changed all my SATA drives to IDE. still the same.

Here's the system's details :

CPU : AMD FX-6100
MB : ASUS M597A Pro with build 1604 BIOS
old VGA : Asus 9400 GT
PSU : Green 585 Watt
HDD : Maxtor 250 GB SATA II [ sorry don't know the actual model ]

PLEASE, any ideas anyone ?

Try to take out the card and use a old one or dedicated graphics, boot up and uninstall all drivers and software which links to the GTX 760. Then put the GTX 760 back in and install them all again. If that fails, try update the bios on your motherboard if you haven't already. Then again if that fails reinstall windows and try that.

If all fails you will have to look at your motherboard and PSU and see if there is a problem there.

Hope this helps

Well, I tried a blank hard with nothing in it. I even disconnected them all!

and the BIOS is already the latest version.

and about my PSU ... I don't really know. I don\t have any friends with a similar or better PSU to lend from them and well ... there's no kind retailer around either. but personally I don't think it's the PSU. because if it were PSU, the whole system would be erratic, eh ?

Try re-install windows. I know It's a pain in the ass to do but there might be some settings or something hidden stopping your card from working. Worth a try! :D

Let's just consider that a final probable solution. Though I am almost certain it will do nothing. I'll try it, sure, but after everything fails.

anything else ?
