I've recently bought a used Asus GTX 650 Ti Boost and once I surpassed some minor issues with Monitor-GPU communication (for some reason my HDMI connection was giving me low quality output) I decided to test my new acquisition by playing Skyrim.

What a surprise I got when, after Tabbing out of the game to check Skype the screen froze, shattering the image into a million colors and making me force reboot the computer.
I've done several Benchmarks on the GPU with underclocked and overclocked specs and in both cases the GPU never got hotter than 65º on full load. Hence, it's not a heating problem.

I've also tried to play several other games and, for the time being, they seem to work perrfectly without any kind of crash whenever I tab out of them, however, I haven't fully tested this so don't count to much on it.

What do you think the problem is?
Could it be caused by a Hz drop when I tab? If so, How do I fix it?

My Computer

CPU: AMD Athlon II X4 640 Processor 3.00Ghz
GPU: ASUS GTX650 Ti Boost 2GB
Motherboard:GIGABYTE GA-970A-DS3
RAM: Corsair 16GB DDR3 SDRAM
PSU: Unknown model, but it has 420W of power.

I'm thinking it's either software or the PSU, since it never happened with my previous GPU while playing Skyrim (RADEON HD6750 1GB)

Thank you and let's hope I don't have a faulty GPU!
