Hi everyone, I have recently bought a monitor for my new gaming rig, I have bought all components except for the graphics card, so I asked my uncle to give his xbox 360 so that I can wait for non reference r9-290, I connected his xbox 360 to my monitor via an hdmi to dvi-d converter, when i turned on the xbox, there were some checkerd patterns, I raised the resoloution to 1920x1080 and I thought the checkered patterns vanished, but when i go too close to the monitor I can see tiny checkered patterns, when I sit back in my regular position, there are no checkered patterns, as if everything is crystal clear, my question is, do you think it is because of the converter, or there is a problem with the monitor!? I had priorly connected my older pc to the monitor via d-sub port and I had not seen this problem, also xbox 360 recognizes my port as dvi+a!!! I am really worried the monitor is defective :(
Thank you all for any recommendation you can provide me with

I think it's the monitor, try to connect a computer to your monitor and see if the problem apirres on the screen. If it ain't, it could be a compability problem.

I had connected my old pc to the d-sub port, I didn't have this problem...is it about the dvi-d port!?

It should be compatible.
Try to connect the xbox to another screen or try to connect the monitor with the xbox with another converter.
Else try to check if the pins in the converter is bent broken, or missing.

It should be the only way to find out.
eitehr the monitor, xbox or converter, is definitly broken, now the last question should be, 'Which Part'
