FPS lag on good rig

So i'm trying to play the mmorpg "Vindictus" and i seem to get fps lag, but my rig is totally new, and on my other computer (that is way worse) gets none! they are even on the same router connection. What is going on??

my spec is

Win 7 home prof x64
MSI GeForce GTX 770 2GB PhysX CUDA
Intel® Core i7-4770K, 3.5GHz, 4C, (Haswell)
16GB Kingston HyperX Predator / DDR3 / 2133 Mhz - 4 x 4GB
Gigabyte GA-Z87X-OC Force / Socket 1150
Super Flower / AXP 750W

What are your CPU and GPU temps? Something overheating can cause lags.

i have already checked that, its at around 45-47C when playing for a long time, around 30C while idle.

What is your network connection like? You say "same router connection," but that is a physical impossibility. Switch the port you're using on your router to see if you have a bad port. If it is wireless, what adapter are you using, and what does the better-performing system use? Does your system show lag spikes when you benchmark something like Unigine Heaven?

i have a 100/10 mbit connection, but im unsure how to swich the port im using in the game. no its not wireless, although there is no differance if i use my wifi connection.
what do you mean by "and what does the better-performing system use?" the lag is on the "better" system.
i tried the Unigine Heven benchmark, it runs smooth as hell on highest settings.

Switch the ports that the cables of your two systems are plugged into on the router, and see if it makes a difference. If you were only using one system at a time, plugged into the same port, then it is possible the network adapter in the "better" system is defective.

how laggy are we talking about? Also drivers updated? GPU/CPU not underclocking during the game?

no, changing the port did nothing :/
the fps rate changed between 2-25, depending on the enviroment/players/mobs.
how do i see if anything underclocking itself?

use the programs CPU-Z and GPU-Z to monitor your clocks/multipliers, temps, and other information, they're very useful tools to have.

Also, does this happen with any other game? If not, then what might solve it is messing with the settings in your Nvidia control panel (since you're using an intel CPU the game might just not be correctly activating Optimus for Vindictus), try messing with sync and pre-rendering frames.

Also, in my experience, Vindictus was never a well-optimized game, but it never ran that terribly on my computers before >_> if you know your PC is healthy and running well then it can't be faulty parts.

no it only hapens with this game, other games works just fine.
i tried changing the 3D settings in the Nvidia controll panel (unsure where those settings that you mentioned are) and nothing changed.
yea maybe its not the best game, but it works just fine on a 5 year old computer. and on my 3 weeks old one has problems.

it's under the specific game in the 3D settings, there should be a bunch of settings like texture filtering and occlusion and etc.

See if the game is actually using your GPU to run it or is the nvidia control panel defaulting to the integrated piece of cardboard.

yea then i was correct, i changed and tweeked most of the settings, but none of em did any noticable differance.
yes its using my GPU, not the integrated one.

Hmmm. A program like MSI's Afterburner can show clock rate and temperature over time. Use that. When the game is laggy, switch to the Afterburner screen and make sure your graphics card has been running at its 3D clock rates the whole time.

it looks fine i think, the core clock is steady at 135 and memory clock at 325. in fact it looks like the only thing affected by the game is the GPU usage but its still low at around 20%

Those are 2D clocks, WAY too low! Compare to the way it runs in Heaven, or in other games. The card is not ramping up for a 3D load like it should. You might be able to force higher clocks either in the nVidia control panel or in Afterburner.

hm i think my clocks are being idle in this game, they have the same values all the time. how can i make them go into 3D all the time? is this possible?

It is...believe it or not I'm not sure; I've never had to do that. I think you can set up profiles in Afterburner, or force them in the nV control panel, but I'm not sure how.

i was able to keep them at a 3D level, using the afterburner profiles and some tweaking in the Nvidia control panel.
but the lag is still there. sigh..

i have tried to play other games online now, and it seems that they are the same, so i think it has sometihng to do with my connection, but i have a good connection. is there any settings i can change to fix this?

Are you using a wired connection? Try a different LAN cable, and also try a different port on your router. Clear your DNS Resolver cache (ipconfig /flushdns from a command prompt). Run some speedtest.net tests and see if you're getting what you expect.
