Hi Guys,
I've been having an issue with my pc completley turning off - usually when playing games. I thought i had sorted it after following cin19's solution from a previous post:

http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-1820754/ssd-causing-unknown-crashing.html#xtor=EPR-8809

However, the issue has come back. After about an hour or less of playing, my computer just turns itself off, and i cant turn it back on again for a good 10 minutes or so. Since the time of the post above, the only thing i have done since, is try some new ram (2x 4gb) - which didnt work, so i reverted back to what i was using.

For a while after this though, my computer had been fine, playing games for hours on end. The problem has come back out of the blue and i've no idea why.

Any suggestions would be vastly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

If it happens just when you are playing games, then your video card might be dying. Install Everest and check GPU temperatures while gaming. I had a similar problem last month and it turned out all I had to do was replace the video card.

I doubt it. A faulty SSD would mess up when using your PC for anything but you mentioned games in particular. I suppose you tried cleaning the dust from the PC and the power source?

I've cleaned the dust not so long ago. I had a look inside today and it didn't look so bad. I'll give it another de-dust with particular attention to the video card. Thanks for the help bloodlover!

PSU is a reasonably new 450w Corsair. When this issue happened originally, i assumed it was the PSU packing in, when the computer turned off and wouldnt come back on. However, since learned that's not the problem. I've tried a 650w and the issue still carried on, so i reverted back to my 450w. I tried to monitor the temps while playing last night and the GPU temp was getting up to the mid 70's, but i didnt see what my CPU temp was getting to.
