Hi I`m hoping someone can help me. I have Alienware aurora desk top running on windows 7 64 bit if you need any more information about my aurora just let me know. A few days ago I think I picked up a virus on it and it just went into melt down so after trying everything I did a clean install and reloaded all the drivers from the dell driver site and as far as I know in the right order ? . It all seems to be working fine expect two things .one it keeps saying Unknown Device: Device type Universal Serial Bus controllers Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) .I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver again and again still no joy!!! and the second one is after installing the new Alienware command centre I started it up it opened on the thermal systems controls I noticed that all the thermal status were on 0% and the Hard Drive Fan2 and CPU pump said Failed . I’ve run loads of Diagnostics test they all come fine .The funny thing is it seems to be running fine oh and the lights don’t work but I’m thinking if the command centre isn’t working neither will they

if only I could !! I bought it second hand a few months ago it was all working great until last week ! and yes I've look into trying to speak with dell support but it's got no warranty left and at there premium rate phone numbers god knows how much that would cost ? don't think this is a ten minute fix

You might be able to just go into Device Manager (start > right click my computer > manage > device manager) and disable the Universal Serial Bus controllers with a yellow ! next to it, as that's likely the one causing the message. It's possible the person before you already did that when they owned it.

possible he knew ? seemed like a nice guy ! I'll try to disable that yellow tab showing the USB error ! not sure if that will fix the other problem with the FX command Centre that controls the LED lights and shows the running state of the fans and temperature and other things

If you had to do an entire reinstall because of a virus he probably wouldn't have known/remembered. It was most likely not a problem for him.

I'm sure if you look there are some specific Alienware forums when people with actual Alienware specific experience can better help you with the proprietary software.
