Question about performance issues with the gtx 760 I just bought.

So I just upgraded to gtx 760 from a 460 and decided to try it out with a quick game of bf4. Thing is, even with all settings set to low, the fps is on an average of 35 with constant dips into 20 or less, which is very similar to how the 460 performed.

I then tried out bf3 which I had been playing on medium with my 460 averaging around a steady 32-40 fps but with the occasional stutter. I played on the same settings with the 760 and it performed exactly the same as the 460. I have been gaming at 1080
I knew that my cpu was going to bottleneck the gpu, but if thats whats happening here, I was not expecting that much of a bottleneck where there is virtually no performance difference at all.

Anyways, heres a basic rundown of my specs:
GTX 760
i3-2120
8GB Ram
Biostar TZ77XE3 LGA
630 PSU
Windows 8

So is all this an issue of the card being bottlenecked? or is there something else happening?
Thanks for the help guys.

I'm assuming you've already checked your driver version and made sure it's up to date? There are some performance increases for the 7 series cards in the latest drivers. Make sure those are up to date.

But unfortunately, yes, you *could* be running into a bottleneck issue if your drivers are up to date and you're still running into that problem.

Yep, updated to the latest drivers as soon as I put in the card in.

Ah, I see. Wells that's pretty disappointing. I would still have had expected some degree of improvement over the 460 performance though. But, I guess its the way she goes.

I hadn't as of yet so I just gave arkham origins a shot. Runs at an average of 40 fps sometimes going up to 60 fps when the camera is up close. This is everything on max settings with PhysX set to normal.
Sounds about right yeah?

To anyone else who might find this thread!

I managed to fix it somehow. I updated my windows 8 to windows 8.1 and I'm now even able to play on ultra on bf4 with real smooth fps.

Actually, I'm an idiot. I just remembered that I did something else, and this makes more sense on fixing the problem. I turned on hyperthreading. I turned it off for whatever reason some time back.

Anyways, just thought I'd post this up in case anyone else stumbled onto this.
