Building a PC with my feet on the carpet with a Anti-Static wristband on?

Hey,

So i was just wondering if i could build a gaming pc whist my feet are on carpet if i was wearing an anti static wrist band? My house is fully carpeted (Kitchen and bathroom as well). Is it safe to do this? Or would i be better putting a piece of wood on the floor with my feet on it?

As long as you have the wrist strap attached to you at one end, and the PC at the other end, then no matter what you are standing on then there will be no static discharges between you and the PC.
