Hey. My BIOS Version is 0906. My brother has the exact same pc with version 1503. The problem I'm having is that the BIOS recognizes 8GB of ram (two 4GB sticks in two slots), but says 4. Windows 8.1 64 Bit recognizes 8 GB, but says that 3.9 is usable. I checked CPU-Z, and 8GB is recognized, but it says 800Mhz when my ram is 1600Mhz? Should I update my BIOS to 1503, and is it safe?

updating the bios isnt 100% safe, but it's like 99% safe, be sure to read up on the exact method of how to update your bios for your Mobo before you do it though.

The 800 is correct as actual which makes 1600 effective with Dual Data Rate, the concern is 3.9 GB usable which I ran into with my daughters rig and turned out to be bad channel on here motherboard!
