Whatever you do, check https://spreadsheets.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0AgN1D79Joo7tdE9xMUFlMEVWeFhuckJEVF9aMmtpUFE&gid=0 and make sure you do NOT get a board known for issues, such as the MSI 970A-G4x series. Although not normally high on my list, Biostar's TA970 may be a good, inexpensive choice.
