Are my boot files/partition in HDD instead of SSD?

I bought an SSD to my computer. Before installing it, I had windows 7 in my HDD what I has been using. After I connected SSD to my pc, I installed windows 8 there.

Now the problem is, I cannot boot windows 8 WITHOUT having HDD in my computer. It just says no bootable device, so I suppose that windows 8 boot files/partition is in HDD and windows 8 itself is in SDD right?

So, is there any way to move boot files/partition to my SSD from HDD?

EDIT: Or is it better to have boot partition on HDD instead of SSD?

Solution
Yes, the System Reserved partition that contains the boot info is on the HDD.

Is this a new OS install? If so, I'd just redo it again, with only the SSD connected.

No this is not new install. I installed windows 8 to ssd months ago. Now back in few days I disconnected my hdd and noticed that windows 8 which is on ssd wont boot without having hdd connected.

Right. If you look in Disk Management with both drives connected. The HDD will have the System Reserved partition on it.

I am really not sure about moving that.

You must have had the hard drive connected when you installed Windows 8 on the SSD. Windows can put stuff on all the drives when you install it. That is why you only have the drive (SSD or HDD) your going to install it on connected. After you finish and it's completely installed then you reattach the other drives.

Okay, both drives connected and im in Disk Manager. System reserved partition, D:, E:, F:, are on Disk 0 (hdd) and Disk 1 (ssd) has only C:

D: is windows 7 partition, E: is data and F: is share. C: is on ssd and there is windows 8

Right. When booted from Win8, the SSD (Disk 1) will be C. If had booted from Win7, Disk 0 would have been C.

What you're seeing it normal, but undesired. If that HDD ever dies, or you want to take it out....the Win8 install on the SSD will not boot.

Your SSD will give you much faster boot up then a HDD I would make that your boot drive. I would disconnect all the drives but the SSD and your DVDRW and reinstall Windows 8. Load your drivers and then do the updates. When your finished reattach the other drives and detect them and continue on.
