Hello, i tried looking at the forums but i couldn't find any recent posts about it. So i was wondering what is considered the best Anti-Virus program? I currently use avast! and it seems like it is ok, but im not sure.

avast is as good as it gets.ive tried a lot of av programs over the years and avast is the one ive stuck with. a good program to team with avast is malwarebytes pro.this is a paid program but does offer realtime protection.well worth the money.if you use the free version scan often.

MS Security Essentials seems to be able to properly identify more recent virus/malware and has a reasonable footprint. It is good for users who don't wildly click every link or think every email sent to them should be fully explored. Then again, if you are shopping free AV programs, you're likely not too concerned about the user(s). I wouldn't recommend this as your only protection if the end-user is click happy.
