Awful FPS on a new rig?

Specs:
GPU: Radeon 7990
CPU: AMD FX-8350
Motherboard: ASrock Pro 7

I am so incredibly frustrated with my FPS. On my old Alienware x51 with a gtx 670, I could easily run any game on Ultra, but I wanted a new PC in order to obtain steadier FPS with graphic mods. Sadly, my FPS is hilariously atrocious. I'm getting 100 FPS IN MINECRAFT VANILLA!!! My old rig could run minecraft at 405 FPS! WHY!? Also, I have around 40 FPS on BF on ultra, whereas my old computer (which I still have) has around 60 FPS. Unfortunately, I am not very skilled with computers, but are there any simple Catalyst Control Panel settings that I should change? I have the latest 13.12 drivers :(

That's a dual gpu card right? Do those games support crossfire well, and is there a way to tell if only one of the gpu's is being used? My crossfire experience is pretty much zero, but on paper the 7990 should be faster.
Perhaps one of the dual gpu experts can chime in on resolving your issue, but my bet is on it not using both gpu's properly.

AMDs 8350 is good, yet its significantly slower than Intel in many games and aplications.
One thing id like is full system specs. I doubt its lack of power from the PSU, but it would be good to check.
Number of Cores dont matter that much in games that dont use more than 2 cores (not sure if thats the case here, but its something to check as well).

Regardless, that 7990 should yield much higher frames in games than a single 670. I'm not sure if the cpu is holding the card back or some other issue. What PSU are you running, maybe the cpu and gpu aren't getting enough juice? I'm pretty sure the tdp of the 7990 is pretty high paired with the amd guzzler. Also is that Asrock motherboard a quality one?

I don't know about the PSU, but somebody on Battlelog stated that the ASRock is intended for lower specs, but such a FPS hit from a motherboard is... scary xD

For some reason, the Crossfire option disappeared in the Catalyst Control Panel. There is an option for frame-pacing to improve dual GPU performance, but I can't find the Crossfire option itself under the Performance tab :(

Hmmmm. It's not recognizing the second gpu maybe? That would definitely explain the fps issue.

Can you or have you contacted the card manufacturer for possible support, or checked their forums for this type of issue?

And is it still under warranty?
