I just loaded Lucid-528 OS onto my Acer aspire 5733z, Intel pentium processor P6200 @ 2.13 GHz, 500 GB HHD, 4 GB dram, that was loaded by 4 GB USB flash drive and was going to be used to extract the files and such out of windows 7, so I could do a factory reset on it. After exploring on it, I would like to enable the internet and use it first. Might even reinstall after fixing this HHD as a secondary O S, but I can't seem to get the right configuration for Wi-Fi to work. I'am using my tablet now with Wi-Fi rite next to my laptop, but not able to enable the laptop. This system all new to me, so I need each and every step explained. I fast learner though, if anyone will help. Thanks

Solution
You are using puppy linux, it is not really a linux designed for beginners.
Puppy linux is a really bare bones OS that expects you to know at least the basics.
I suggest you try loading Ubuntu on to your flash drive instead, it will be "easier".

That said, if you *really* want to get your wifi to work:

This may be incorrect procedure, if so, please excuse me. I will get as I do more. Thank you skittle, That solution seems so much more intense than I had thought it would take.I will try ubuntu. Will the same wifi problem exists?
I would like to ask about 1 other situation I have at hand today, if I may. My windows7 home premium went down hard and I'am in process through another to install windows 7 back, so I won't try and merge, but I can't seem to get a simple straight answer on using the link to the windows 7 x64bit home premium iso image disk I burned , then currently using to install the windows. When at the screen to choose where to put the new install, I deleted all and hit next. Well, thought it would work, but 18 hours later it says it is starting services still, although, I have helped it reboot several times now. What is it doing, please?
Many Thanks, but If I do this wrong , I understand

I have not used windows in years.

As for wifi in ubuntu and linux in general, it greatly depends on the wifi chipset you are using. You may or may not need to install a firmware package.
Try ubuntu first, if wifi does not start automatically:
Post here the output of: "sudo lspci"
(you can save this to a text file with "sudo lspci >> lspci_output.txt")
