Is the new cryovenom R9 290 stock already faster than a ref gtx 780 ti.? or does the cryovenom need to be overclocked in order for it to be faster than a stock ref gtx 780 ti?

Is the liquid cooling on the cryovenom r9 290 maintenance-free?

The card as delivered is a standard R9 290 with the liquid cooling block and back-plate installed. Visiontek provides a report with the tested OC values. You can then put the OC values into the Catalyst software which runs at Startup. FYI, mine was not stable at the tested memory overclock value so I had to back it down from 20% to 15% overclock.

Regarding maintenance, the cooling block is just a heat exchanger, nothing to service or maintain.
