How do I setup a 2nd router so that I can have more than roughly 5 devices connect to the internet without lag?

I have well over 10 devices that I connect to my Wi-Fi, and it's starting to have troubles. I called my provider and they said I should get a 2nd router, since the 1st one they gave me only supports about 5 devices at a time. Does anyone know how to set up the router so that I can connect more devices at a time to the internet without lagging and such?

As your provider hinted, you need a better router. There's no magic formula or settings to improve things with your current one.
However, with "well over ten devices" connected to WiFi, you're really pushing it whatever router you buy.

You need to think about buying corporate rather than home equipment when you get to that level of use, and that costs serious money.
