]I'm building my first computer and went to install the parts to a case today. I have a
ASRock Z77 M mobo
Geforce GTX 760 video card
Corsair CX600 PSU

I installed everything an it booted fine but I was getting no signal from my mobo and the card(I was using dvi). I turned my power supply off and on a few times trying to find the problem and now it isn't powrting on correctly. When I turn it on the mobo fan doesn't come on the graphics card fan on spins weakly. Please help :(

Solution
Hi:), go to this link and go through all of the steps make sure everything is in right and in the right place....

http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/261145-31-perform-steps-posting-post-boot-video-problems

I will tell you 1 more thing that is with the RAM push very hard on the sides of it so that it clicks into place, i mean alot more pressure then an 1st timer would think(such as myself for the 1st build i did that was my prob:))

HOPE THIS HELPS GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Simplify and try to find some parts that you are confident in.

Remove everything you dont absolutly need from the equation. No video card. No drives beyond the one that holds the OS. Bare bones.

Tell us how far you shortened the component list and what symptoms remain.

i took out everything but the mother board and PSU and only left the CPU and 24pin plugged in and now the PSU isn't powering on at all. Its only three months old I don't understand what's wrong with it, it shouldn't have blown. I'm running an i5 processor in the mobo too if that helps at all

you said only the 24pin, is the 4/8 pin plugged in....?(usually located on top of the mobo)

Yes it is. Also whenever I plug the dvi cable into the mobo when the PSU is switched to on(the fan isn't spinning and it doesn't appear to be on) my monitor powers on to tell me it has no signal.

Also should I be giving my computer its own electrical socket? I have it on a pretty cheap power strip with other demanding things and its not surge protected and my building has pretty unreliable sockets. I feel like this should be a duh thing, but is this why my power supplies keep shorting?
