Z87-PRO CPU Fan error upon boot. Where to set fan speed?

I got this new PC that gives me a "CPU Fan error" every time I boot it after having left it shut down for some time. A reboot doesn't produce any errors. When I get the error I have to go into the BIOS and I can see there that the fan is running at around 500-550 rpm. I can than boot from within the BIOS.

I can see from other threads that I probably have to change the minimum fan speed. But I'm not sure where precisely I have to do this. Could someone with knowledge of this area help me with a step by step guide as to where to point and click in my BIOS?

My BIOS version is 1707.

Thanks in advance

Hi, Click Advanced mode (F7), click Monitor, then CPU fan speed low limit - set it to 300, Save and Exit

Thanks! Will have a go when I get home from work :-)
  3. also with newer asus mb there two cpu fan ports next to each other the back up port is the _opt port make sure your not using that for the main cpu fan...as the mb looking for fan info from the other port. the other port is a back up port if the first one dies.
