im planning to buy a maximus v formula z and pair it with an fx 8350, im not into ocing or doing sli or crossfire. my question is will i be wasting $$$ if im not going to maximize the full capacity of thr mobo since ill be be using it for casual gaming in 1080p with a gtx 770.

if it was an intel mb i would be saying yes as there a lot of good intel mb at lower price point. google 990fx and 970 chipset and models that are under the price point your looking at look at how many have issue or doa or may need firmware updates. sometime buying a top end mb...get better power vrm and better mb that has less bugs in it then a cheaper mb.
