I was building a new rig for my GF which has been successful but in the same hour my PC has ceased to have life at all.

I have the motherboard mentioned above with a 2500k, 4GB DDR3 and a very good quality Corsair 650w PSU (over kill i know) which is only 2 years old.

I have a 6870 Direct CU of which the low power LED is lit up when the PSU is connected without the 2x 6pin connecters. Other than that its dead. No fans, no lights, no nothing. I have, dusted and stripped it down to CPU, PSU and board only on a static proof surface but still nothing.

Any suggestions? Thanks

Edit: I should also mention i have 3 rigs to swap around and test components with and have tested the PSU on another PC which im writing on now. It seems to be fine.

I have had the motherboard on its own with the psu 24 and 6pin (correction 8pin) connects attached and the CPU mounted. I have also had a case speaker attached and tried another cases power switch. No beeps, nothing There is also no movement of the fan on the heatsink.

This is most bizarre! I am searching ebay as we speak..
