Hi guy, well I have some spear money and I was wondering what I need to get in my rig to make things a little faster. I was thinking a SSD ? Which one stall I get? (I know what your thinking ... who doesn't have a SSD in 2014, well I don't)

I am a gamer and video editor.

Here are my specs:
i7 980 3.33GHz
Gigabyte GTX 770 WindForce 3x OC 2GB
Kingston HyperX Blu 12GB
Gigabyte G1.Guerrilla IntelĀ® X58+
Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 7200RPM SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache
Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache
Be Quiet! CM BQT L8-730W PSU Pure Power

Expert advice would be good. Thanks in advance

A ssd will be one of the most satisfying performance upgrades you can make.
Not so much for gaming, or editing, but for overall snappiness of your pc.

The performance boost would only occur on using SSD as a boot drive.
My Recommendation : Samsung 840 series 120 GB SSD ($100, newegg)

Hi!

I am a PC expert. I built over 60 custom gaming PC. Yes an ssd is a good way to speed things up a little especialy if you don't have one yet. I whould advise you to get a samsung 840 evo ssd. Because you are a video editor you should get an 500gb ssd but you could also get a 250gb one.

I hope that I helped you.

My first choice at that size would be a Samsung 840 EVO 250GB. The Magician software is useful. Other contenders would be the Crucial M500 or Intel 520 (both 240GB) if they were on a really good sale and cheaper than the Samsung.

I updated all my main machines to 480/500GB drives (one each Samsung EVO, Crucial M500 and Intel 520) when they were on good sales and all perform very well.
